How did you do that? Notes on the Clay Aiken illustration process from Laurie McAdam
These portraits were drawn in Adobe Illustrator version 10. In the top squares you can see each of the polygons (shapes) that I had to draw with my computer mouse. This is what the image looks like with no color added. After a shape is drawn, I fill it with color. The color can consist of blends, solids and transparencies. These are overlapped and layered for other variations of tone and shape. A lot like airbrush but less messy and always plenty of undos! -- Laurie McAdam
